Lived Experience Experts

The term “lived experience expert” has gotten a little convoluted. We want to help to clear that up.

Every person is an expert in their own life.

However, knowledge of just one aspect of trafficking does not qualify them to work in the field.

In order to be an expert in the field of anti-trafficking, one must reach beyond their own experience. The lived experience expert is someone who has lived experience in human trafficking, has added to that knowledge through education, has worked in the field, and understands that healing is a life-long journey.

As survivors and leaders, we understand the difficulty organizations face when trying to hire people with lived experience while ensuring that the person isn’t further traumatized.

MNMV is happy to connect you to the true experts when you are ready to hire. We have a network of lived experience experts who are already working in the field. They each have years of experience in the field and a proven pattern of continued growth.

Our goal is always to promote survivors and to ensure that no one else is harmed when trying to get help.
